Hello! I just wanted to tell you that your theme Once upon a time 2 is the most beautiful that I have ever seen on Tumblr and I'm so happy to have found it. If I can ask you one question, I read all your explanations on your site, but I can't find how to upload a background image for the tags. I have a white suqare with a red cross. Or at least, I could put some color. I tried all the costumize buttons. maybe we can't do that since I saw it's the same on the live preview? Thank you so much!

Thank you very much for your kind words and I am very happy you like my theme so much <3!

The truth is that can’t be done by the customization page, you need to play with HTML just a little bit.

To change the icons in the tags you need to press “Edit HTML” and search after <body> and before </body> for these codes (it’s somewhere near the end):

<div class="permabar">

<a href="{Permalink}"><img src="" alt=""> {DayOfMonth} {Month} {Year}</time> </a>

<img src="" alt=""><a href="{Permalink}"> {NoteCountWithLabel} </a>

<a href="{SourceURL}"><img src="" alt=""> {SourceTitle}</a>

<a href="{TagURL}"><img src="" alt=""> #{Tag}</a>

Replace the links of the icons like that:

<div class="permabar">

<a href="{Permalink}"><img src="URLFORYOURDATESICON" width="17" height="17"> {DayOfMonth} {Month} {Year}</time> </a>

<img src="URLFORYOURNOTESICON" width="17" height="17"><a href="{Permalink}"> {NoteCountWithLabel} </a>

<a href="{SourceURL}"><img src="URLFORYOURSOURCEICON" width="17" height="17"> {SourceTitle}</a>

<a href="{TagURL}"><img src="" alt=""> #{Tag}</a>

I have put as you might have noticed default size for your icons 17x17 pixels. You can customize that when you change the width=”17” height=”17” for each of the links.

Hey XD I am using your Once Upon A Time theme and I was wondering about the sidebar image at the top left, am I able to make it so that sidebar image changes each time someone refreshes? if so do you know how I could do that with your theme?

I suppose you refer to the original version. If not things might be different.

You need to search in my theme for this code after the <body> and before the </body>:

<div id="sidebar">
<a href="/"><img src="{image:Sidebar Image}"/></a></div>

and do what it says here.

Then search between <style type=”text/css”> and </style> for this code:

#sidebar img
background-image:url('{image:Sidebar image}');
{block:if500px}max-width:200px; max-height:200px;{/block:if500px}
{block:if400px}max-width:180px; max-height:180px;{/block:if400px}
{block:if250px}max-width:130px; max-height:130px;{/block:if250px}
{block:ifnotfloralsidebar}border:5px solid {color:Sidebar bg};
{block:iffloralsidebar}margin-top:15px; margin-left:66px;
-moz-border-radius: 50px 55px 5px 70px;
border-radius: 50px 55px 5px 70px;{/block:iffloralsidebar}}

Depending on the size of post you have chosen e.g. 500 pixels (whose sidebar image sizes is defined inside the {block:if500px}{/block:if500px}) write the exact size you want your images to be (if you do not want the sidebar to constantly get bigger or smaller).

If you want for instance your images to be 200 x 200 pixels

you have to replace max-width:200px; max-height:200px; with width:200px; height:200px;

Then all the images you have added in the previous step will automatically be resized to be 200 x 200.

Hey! Would you mind explaining what not using your themes as base codes mean? Does it mean I can't modify the theme too much? Or does it mean I can't "publish" a modified theme as something I made? I'm a bit confused about the terminology, sorry for the ignorance x.x

It’s ok. You can modify the themes as much as you desire.

It is only that you need to leave the credit of making the theme to me and not publish it as your own.

I’m so sorry guys for not answering questions for so long, but I no longer make themes.

I thought this was quite obvious since I have to update quite a long time. I did not have the heart however to officially post a message since I do love this blog and coding and I was expecting that I would start using this blog again, one way or another. However I see people still send me messages, so I feel obliged to say that I no longer make themes or answer questions about the already existing ones. If you want you can still use my codes and check my faq and my already answered questions, but it is quite possible that many themes need revamping. I do not have the time and energy to put my mind to it right now, so um… I just felt obliged to inform.

thanks for all the love and support guys.

I will try to answer some questions I see already in my inbox, propably those that do not need taking a look at the codings.
